SWATCH Freeride World Tour Next Stop: Kirkwood

The SWATCH Freeride World Tour presented by The North Face is set to begin tomorrow, February 27, at 9am PST in the beautiful California sunshine at Kirkwood Mountain Resort.

The fourth stop this season will bring lots of intense competition and battles to the finish between the very talented international pools of athletes. The tour launched with a roster featuring 36 prequalified male skiers, 14 male snowboarders, 14 female skiers, and 7 female snowboarders. The male divisions have five stops, while the female divisions have four stops before the final cut for the SWATCH Xtreme Verbier in Switzerland. The top three finishes out of five events for men and the top three finishes out of four events for women will be used to solidify the riders used for Verbier and the 2014 FWT.

The most ideal location for competition at Kirkwood Mountain Resort is The Cirque, which features challenging exposed, steep, and raw terrain that is normally closed to the general public. This venue will definitely test the skiers and riders with many different lines that can be used and make for a unique and thrilling day of battle.
