If you are a fan of beer and snow sports, then be sure to mark your calendar for March 16th, 2013. On that day, Mt. Rose ski resort in Lake Tahoe, will host the 2nd annual “Stake Your Claim” amateur free-ride competition, a day that always promises to be packed full of entertaining competition, exciting prizes, and of course, beer drinking.
The competition itself will include four divisions: men’s ski, women’s ski, men’s snowboard, and women’s snowboard. The competitors will be judged by a host of 3 judges for each discipline, with the disciplines including technique, line, fluidity, control, overall impress. The top scorers will advance to dual head to head elimination rounds, until the final four places will be determined.
The day also celebrates the northern Nevada launch of Alaskan Brewing Company’s Freeride APA, the brewery’s first release brewed through a sustainable beer powered process, which uses brewing by-product as fuel source. Alaskan Brewing Company has become the first craft brewery in the world to use this technique, and have been able to reduce their fuel consumption by 60-70%.
So if you think you have what it takes to impress the judges, be sure to register at www.skirose.com.
