Martinod Makes a Comeback at Women’s Ski SuperPipe in Tignes X Games

Professional skier and mother, Marie Martinod-Routin returned to the X Games for the first time since 2006. Not only did Martinod make her reappearance in Tignes X Games, but she grabbed the gold for Women’s Ski SuperPipe.

In Friday’s finals, it was the French women who came on top. Martinod’s first run was solid to give her a score of 86.33 and remain on top. Fellow French woman, Anais Caradeux, followed behind Martinod with silver. American Maddie Bowman and X Games Aspen 2013 gold medalist, had a podium finish with a score of 85.00 and was able to grab bronze.

Martinod showed her appreciation for the support and told X Games, “It’s probably the first time I’ve had so many friends at the bottom and all my family, and everything I can say is that I heard you guys. I heard you screaming and shouting so loud; it just gave me so much power.”
