It’s time for the girls to officially show the boys how it’s done on the slopes. Breaking boundaries in history, the first and only televised all-girls World Snowboard Tour sanctioned event in the U.S. will take place on April 6, thanks to the initiation of leading producer of action sports events and television programming ASA Entertainment, in partnership with the Community Cup. Created by women and for women, the snowboarding course at Breckenridge Ski Resort of Colorado will feature the top 25 female riders in the 7th year of the Supergirl Jam Series for women’s snowboarding as a part of the series.

Incredible female athletes including Torah Bright, Kjersti Buaas, Sarka Pancochva, Silje Norendal, Sina Candrian, Christy Prior, Shelly Gotlieb, Celia Miller and more will compete as they reveal the true power and progression of women in sports.

Recognizing the significance of female snowboarding, CEO of ASA Entertainment Rick Bratman stated, “The past several years has seen huge progression in female snowboarding and we wanted to provide the opportunity to showcase these dynamic women to an even broader audience in the US. The fact that there were no major all-girls WST events in the US was a real injustice, and we felt that it was important to take this bold step in support of women’s snowboarding.  We are so pleased to partner with Breck, the Community Cup, Warner Bros Consumer Products and the world’s top pros to create this historic event.”

Along with an epic slopestyle snowboarding competition, the Supergirl jam will feature female-inspired activities including yoga workshops, music and more. Free to the public and in conjunction with Breck’s Spring Fever Festival, this memorable event includes a live concert by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The event also emphasizes eco-awareness and sustainability efforts with an eco village and green workshops through organizations including the Non-Toxic Revolution, Keep-A-Breast, Protect Our Winters, Plastic Pollution Coalition, 5Gyres and One Life.

With enthusiasm of the future, Professional snowboarder and Supergirl competitor Kjersti Buaas commented, “Women’s snowboarding is progressing at high speed, with a lot of potential to grow.  With the right course we can take it to the next level with style, tricks, and variety. It will be powerful for us women to have the TV follow the stories behind our riding, and reach a new audience.”
