The newly created “Il Castello”, a magical snow castle full of massive jibs, jumps and rails, is awaiting adrenaline junkies of skiing and snowboarding at the Mottolino Fun Mountain in Livigno, Italy. In it’s 5th year, the Nine Knights Freeski event draws in professional riders from all over the globe for a Supersession to ride a massive snow castle with royal features from April 15-20. Additionally, the winners of the Contour Wanna Be A Knight video contest have the chance of a lifetime to ride on the magical castle with the best freeskiers in the world like Tanner Hall, Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Markus Eder and Tom Wallisch and more.

Impressed by the submitted footage for the Wanna Be A Knight video contest, judges selected the top winners who showed the most impressive style, tricks and airtime. Each rider who entered the Wanna Be A Knight video contest had to submit footage of their 9 best tricks along with 3 rail bangers. The following winners who have shown their serious skills and now have the privilege to shred the “Il Castello”  are Niklas Eriksson, Luca Tribondeau, Christoph Schenk, Dennis Ranalter and Nicky Keefer.

As the host of the Nine Knights freeski event, Mottolino Fun Mountain in Livigno is a resort known for great involvement and innovation of freestyle sports. At 2,200m above sea level in the Italian Alps, event mastermind and rider Nico Zacek and other experts have created “Il Castello” in hopes that it will be the epicenter for progression.

Perfected by experts at Schneestern and master CAT drivers from Mottolino Fun Mountain, “Il Castello” was molded with 100,000 cubic meters of snow formed into a 60m long, 28m high, 150m wide massive features, ready to put the top professional athletes to the test of insanity.

Event Mastermind and rider Nico Zacek commented on the event efforts, “We have never invested this much time into planning a setup before but the extra effort is definitely worth it. I don’t want to give away too much but I can tell you that Il Castello will exceed everything you’ve ever seen at the Nine Knights.”
