Aspen/Snowmass Power of Four 50K Trail Race Set For August 4, 2013

Registration is now open for the new 50k trail race across all four mountains in Aspen/Snowmass. Aspen Skiing Company is excited to announce a 50k ultra trail running race that covers all four area mountains, as their newest addition to the Power of Four race series. The race will begin at the base of Aspen Mountain, peak at the Sundeck and follow single/double-track trails through Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass before finishing in Snowmass Base Village. The event represents the third installment of the growing Power of Four series.

“We love this trail running addition to our Power of Four series” says John Rigney, Vice President of Sales & Events at Aspen Skiing Company. “It fits in nicely with our existing endurance events, and will offer an amazing backcountry feel to both competitive and recreational trail runners.”

The race will feature a solo and a relay category. The solo category will be a full 50k and the relay will feature teams of two; where one leg runs from the base of Aspen Mountain to the base of Tiehack, and the second leg will begin at the base of Tiehack and finish in Snowmass.

Registration is now open at www.aspensnowmass.com/power-of-four-50k. The fee is $75 for the solo run and $95 for the relay if registered before July 28, 2013. Online registration is set to close August 1st at 5 p.m. and on-site registration will be available starting August 2nd. Registration will not be available on race day.
