One hundred eighty nine days after it began, Sugarloaf’s ski season finally came to an end yesterday, on Cinco de Mayo, with the final group of skiers and riders loading the chairlift at 3:50pm under sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-70s.
Yesterday’s closing also marked the end of Maine’s 2012-13 ski season, which began on November 6, 2012, with the opening of Sugarloaf’s sister resort, Sunday River. Sugarloaf’s summer operations are scheduled to begin late May, when the Sugarloaf Golf Club officially opens for its 28th season. The course was recently ranked as Maine’s number one golf course by Golf Digest.
Just because the snow season has ended, it doesn’t mean you can’t come out and still enjoy the amazing resort while participating in another sport!
