Panasonic has been officially selected as the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games official supplier. The company will provide about 5,000 household appliances to the venues, including the Olympic Villages and the Organizing Committee’s offices in the Olympic Park.
The partnership has been established by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee President and CEO, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Panasonic Corporation, Takumi Kajisha, and the General Director of Panasonic Rus Ltd, Shigeo Suzuki.
Suzuki said of the collaboration, “We are extremely proud of our longstanding collaboration with the IOC, through which people from all over the world are able to watch the spectacular events of the Olympic Games. I am especially delighted that we are able to expand our Olympic presence in Russia. Only once the company was able to do so before – at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano. Over 15 years later, we are able to repeat this experience in Sochi. In this way, Panasonic Corporation emphasizes the significant role and importance of Russia in our global business.”
“We are delighted to have Panasonic as an Official Supplier of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Panasonic is a world leader in the electronics industry and innovative technology, making them a perfect fit for Sochi 2014. They will not only present audio and visual equipment to the Games in Sochi, but also high-quality home appliances that have earned the trust and respect of millions of people in Russia. I am confident that our partnership is another step in ensuring that the Games in Sochi will be the most modern and innovative,” said Chernyshenko.
Panasonic supplies will be available for everybody involved in the games. The household goods include kettles, coffee-machines, microwave ovens, irons, refrigerators, washing machines, and thermo pots.
