After 10 surgeries in three countries within one year, professional skier Eric Pollard of Line Skis has made a full recovery from his ski injury and is back on the slopes. Surgeons and physical therapists have given the Line Skis shredder the green light to pursue his adventurous lifestyle with no restrictions.
Last winter, Pollard broke his leg during a ski trip in Russia. The spiral fracture of his tibia was repaired in Germany with a rod and screws in order to stabilize it. Pollard encountered several difficulties and failed attempts by surgeons to help him. EP had to undergo a fasciotomy as well as other surgeries for his leg due to compartment syndrome of excessive swelling, nerve damage and infection. From various hospitals in Russia, to Germany then to the United States, Pollard traveled to many hospitals in hopes of being healed.
Featured on the Ski Channel’s film “The Story”, Eric Pollard’s story has persevered through many trials and tribulations but has never ceased to follow his passion for skiing.
Pollard commented on his recovery, “I feel so lucky to have had so many people thinking of me. I truly believe that it has made a big difference in my recovery. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I can’t wait to see you up on the hill!”
