Despite a heart-breaking crash while downhill training on Tuesday morning at Copper Mountain in Colorado, Lindsey Vonn expects a quick recovery. For the past three days, media has been buzzing with the disappointing possibility that Vonn wouldn’t be competing in the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Today, however, Vonn wrote to her fans on her Facebook wall the following updates:

“Thank you all so much for your support and well wishes. It has been a very difficult few days and your positive messages have helped tremendously. Rehab is going well and I am working as hard as I can to race in Lake Louise in a few weeks. Thank you again; I’m proud to have the best fans in the world! Love, Lindsey.”

Though MRI results have confirmed a partial ACL tear in her right knee,┬áVonn went on to ensure her fans that her current injury won’t require a long recovery:

“PS: Don’t worry guys, this is only a temporary setback. Nothing will keep me from picking myself back up and continuing to fight for my dreams. #Sochi2014 #whenyoufallgetbackup #notstopping #workinghard.”

After listening to this Ski Channel exclusive interview with Vonn, it’s no wonder the 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist has such a spirit of determination:
