4 skiers are injured, 2 in critical condition in a chair lift incident at Crystal Mountain Ski resort in B.C, Canada. According to Unofficial Networks, an empty chair lift hit a ski tower, and ”The swinging chair caused occupied chairs in front of and behind it to fall to the ground about 11 a.m”.

Mike Moran, General manager of Crystal Mountain made a public statement:
“At approximately 11:00 am Saturday, Crystal Mountain experienced a lift incident. An oscillating empty chair on the Double Chairlift struck the second lift tower, causing the cable to leave its track. As a result, the cable and three chairs fell to the ground, causing injuries to three Crystal Mountain staff and one customer. All of these individuals were provided with timely and effective medical attention from Crystal Mountain Ski Patrol and BC Ambulance Service, and none of their injuries are considered life threatening.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this unfortunate incident. It is our heartfelt hope that our injured staff members and customer will experience a rapid and complete recovery.
Crystal Mountain is working with the BC Safety Authority to determine the root cause of this incident. We are strongly committed to take all measures necessary to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.
