After 2 great years based in La Parva the Ingrid Backstrom women’s freeride camp is moving south to Nevados de Chillán, home to Chile’s deepest snowpack. The new location not only opens up to more exploring options but offers a new destination for the many returning guests, and is one of Ingrid’s favorite places to ski in the Andes. Nevados de Chillán is renowned for it’s fun volcanic terrain that challenges its guests with a mix of alpine and tree skiing.

“I am really excited to switch up locations this year for our camp, Nevados de Chillan is one of my all-time favorite places and I can’t wait to share it with a group of rad women.  There are volcanoes, natural hot springs, cool forests, and a huge expanse of really fun, rolling, untracked terrain off the lifts and a lot of hikeable and lift-accessed backcountry with terrain for every ability.” Says head Coach Ingrid Backstrom.

The camp will be based out of Nevados de Chillan Hotel a ski-in, ski-out accommodation based in the old growth forest on the lower slopes of Nevados de Chillan. The highlight is the hot spring fed pool and spa just footsteps from the guest’s room.

“With so many returning guests this year, it was important to keep a similar structure to the camp that has made it so successful, yet also offer something fresh.  New terrain seemed to be the best option, and Nevados de Chillan was unanimous when I approached Ingrid about the change. I am really excited about the move further south,” says PowderQuest Founder David Owen.
