Breckenridge extended the ski season by one additional week, from Monday, April 21 through Sunday, April 27, due to a deep snow pack and terrific conditions that can be expected at this elevation (9,600 feet in town, 12,840 feet at the top of Imperial chair) in the spring. In January, Breckenridge was the snowiest resort in the U.S. and has received more than 34 feet of snow so far this season.

Peak 6 is open! This season, the resort added 543 acres – 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain – via Peak 6. Representing a 23 percent increase in the resort’s skiable acres, the expansion features high-alpine, intermediate bowl skiing, a rare find in North America. Locals have long been looking forward to the hike-to terrain, which accesses new chutes with major backcountry feel.
