The summer season has officially returned to Whistler Blackcomb and so has the PEAK 2 PEAK Alpine Experience, offering an unparalleled perspective of British Columbia’s rooftop. The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola is the only lift of its kind in the world and provides guests with 360-degree views into the Garibaldi Provincial Park and the Coast Mountain Range. But the PEAK 2 PEAK Alpine Experience is about more than just spectacular views, as evidenced in the variety of experiences available in the alpine right now at Whistler Blackcomb.
The PEAK 2 PEAK Alpine Experience begins by uploading the Whistler Village Gondola and travelling 3,855 vertical feet to the Roundhouse Lodge. From sliding down the free alpine summer Tube Park, to making a snowman, to an impromptu snowball fight, the fun in the summer snow is endless and will bring out the kid in everyone.
Guests will also have the chance to walk along Pika’s and Matthew’s Traverse, two alpine trails originating from the Emerald Chair next to the Roundhouse Lodge and continuing up to the Whistler Peak. The trails are a total of 3.2km and are lined with massive snow walls reaching heights of over 30ft. The snow walls are at their highest at the top of the Harmony 6 Express Chair, making for impressive photo opportunities for sightseers.
The PEAK 2 PEAK Viewing Gallery in the Whistler Mountain PEAK 2 PEAK Terminal was added to the Whistler Blackcomb alpine experience last summer and has returned for 2014. The PEAK 2 PEAK Viewing Gallery provides a birds-eye view of the gondola’s record-breaking technology and provides a unique perspective of the engineering marvel. Guests looking to grab a snack or a meal while in the alpine can head to the Mountain Marketplace or the Cappuccino Bar in the Roundhouse Lodge.
The PEAK 2 PEAK Alpine Experience will be open daily from 10am to 5pm this weekend with access from the Whistler Village via the Whistler Village Gondola. More information including lift ticket and Summer Season Pass prices are available at www.whistlerblackcomb.com.
