Fall has officially arrived at Whistler Blackcomb, and as leaves change color and temperatures drop, the stoke for winter rises. To help tide over thirsty powder fans, Whistler Blackcomb is hosting COLDFRONT, an online film festival featuring six talented ski and snowboard filmmakers vying for a $10,000 cash prize. The winner will be selected by the viewers based solely on online votes.
The six film crews invited to take park in the inaugural COLDFRONT competition include Olliepop Films, Ryan Kenny and Benjamin Webb, Geoff Hewat, Greame Meiklejohn, and HEART Films. Each week, starting September 29, two filmmakers will face off head to head with online votes deciding who will move on to the next round.
The first two films featured will be from Olliepop Films and Geoff Hewat. Check them out below, and be sure to vote online for your favorite edit. After voting, each individual can enter to win a Whistler Blackcomb prize pack that includes a 2014-2015 unlimited seasons pass, new skis or snowboard, GORE-TEX jacket and pants from Arc’teryx, an Icebreaker Merino wool base layer package, a GoPro camera, and a $500 Whistler Blackcomb gift card.
