As of today, Squaw Valley is now officially open for the 2014-15 winter season. The Lake Tahoe resort received nearly six inches of fresh snow and opened five lifts this morning for skiing and riding. Lifts operating at this time include Funitel, First Venture, Murphy, Tucker, and Wylee.
“It’s a fantastic day on the slopes here at Squaw Valley,” said Cara Whitley, chief marketing officer. “We are so excited to be open for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, allowing skiers and riders to hit the slopes with family and friends.”
Lift tickets currently feature discounted prices, as adults can ski all day for $76, youth and seniors for $65, and super seniors and kids 12 and under for $44. The resort is now open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Alpine Meadows scheduled to open Friday, Dec. 12.
