Squaw Valley Opening Five Additional Lifts

After an early season snow storm dumped nearly three feet of fresh snow on Squaw Valley, the resort is opening five additional chairlifts for skiing and riding. Mountain Meadow and Bailey’s Beach lifts are scheduled to open today, while Shirley Lake Express, Siberia Express and Emigrant chairlifts will open on Saturday, Dec. 6. As of this weekend, Squaw Valley will have 12 lifts up and running, all scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 4.p.m.

“The recent storms have really gotten this ski season off to a fantastic start,” said Mike Livak, executive vice president of Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows. “We’re happy we can open up new terrain this weekend, and look forward to the additional snowfall Mother Nature has in store for us through early next week.”
