Deer Valley kicked off its winter season with the annual Celebrity Skifest on December 6 and 7th, 2014. The event pairs former Olympic ski legends with television and film celebrities for a weekend of skiing and fundraising for the Waterkeeper Alliance, the fastest growing grass roots environmental movement in the world.

U.S. skiing legends Steve Mahre, Phil Mahre, and Tommy Moe competed in the giant slalom races on Birdseye run and were joined by the likes of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cheryl Hines, Giancarlo Esposito and Rachel Harris. To cap off the skiing, the event featured great food and a live performance by Grammy Award-winning country group Lady Antebellum.

2014 marked the ninth year the resort has teamed up with the Waterkeeper Alliance to help defend communities from law breaking polluters and unresponsive government agencies. To date the event has raised over $5 million dollars for the oranization and looks to continue the strong partnership in the future.
