Congratulations to Bobby Brown for taking the trophy at the 7th Annual Dumont Cup at Sunday River. The Colorado native and back-to-back X Games gold medalist earned 91.6 points for his winning slopestyle run, while Canadian amateur freeskier Teal Harle earned a close 90.6 points, and X Games medalist and UK native, James Woods, earned 87.4 for third.
The athletes that made it to the podium earned $7,500, $4,500, and $3,000 cash prize purses. The two day Dumont Cup held nine professional skiers and 74 amateur skiers at the slopes of Sunday River Resort for the largest freeskiing event on the East Coast, and the only platinum level slopestyle jam recognized by the Association of Freesking Professionals (AFP).
The Dumont Cup takes place each March at Sunday River’s newest 15-acre terrain park trail, T72. The event was created by professional freeskier and 10-time X Games Medalist Simon Dumont who designs the event’s slopestyle course, consisting of six rails and three large jumps.
