Killington Resort’s Bear Mountain will be hosting the finals of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix this weekend.  A fat 80k purse will be distributed, although not equally.  This is not socialism, as the winner in both the men’s and women’s division will receive $14,000.  Currently on the Grand Prix, Louie Vito, the defending tour champion, and Steve Fisher hold the top spot.  On the women’s side, two home-state ladies, Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter, will battle for the title.  “We’re very excited to once again host the best snowboarders in the world and showcase our world-class terrain parks and Superpipe,” said Patricia Ryan, director of sales and marketing for Killington Resort.

The halfpipe competition begins on Friday with qualifications at 9:30am.  Slopestyle qualifications and halfpipe finals will be on Saturday.  Slopestyle finals will finish off the weekend on Sunday.  Orange County imports, Reel Big Fish are slated to play Saturday afternoon.
