Snowshoe Bluegrass Festival July 2-5

Bill Monroe headstoneBill Monroe (his headstone pictured right) is considered the father of bluegrass music.  His band, the Blue Grass Boys, were named for his home state of Kentucky. 

One state to the west, West Virginia, is home to Snowshoe Mountain, a 244 acre ski resort on Cheat Mountain.  This July 2-5, Snowshoe holds its annual Bluegrass Festival.  Headliners this year include 2008 International Bluegrass Music Awards Entertainer and Album of the Year recipients Dailey and Vincent and Grammy nominated Dan Tyminski.
