Annual Labor Day sale ‘Ski Rex’ offers monster-sized savings

The annual Labor Day ski and snowboard SKI REX sale will be back in full force this year with “must have” deals under the circus-style tent at all four Colorado Ski & Golf and Boulder Ski Deals stores. Shoppers will find exceptional deals on ski and snowboard equipment, outerwear, clothing, and outdoor-focused accessories when the sale begins on Saturday, Sept. 4 and continues through Sept. 19, 2010.

The SKI REX merchandise team has purchased tons of excess and unsold inventory from around the U.S. and the rows and stacks of gear, clothing and accessories will make this sale a bargain hunters paradise. Skiers and riders can find discounts from 30-75 percent off last season’s equipment, models, and styles. Shoppers looking for first “dibs” on the newest, latest, and greatest items for the upcoming season can find the most up-to-the-minute gear and clothing being offered at the best prices during early season. Skiers and riders can also purchase their Epic passes and season passes for Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin throughout the weekend at all locations.

SKI REX hours are Saturday, Sept. 4 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday, Sept. 5 from 10am to 5pm. The final “tent” day is Monday, Sept. 6 from 10am until 5pm but the same deep discounts are available until Sunday, Sept. 19 at the following Colorado Ski & Golf locations:

2650 S. Havana, Aurora
7715 Wadsworth, Arvada
8100 W. Crestline, Littleton
2454 Montebello Square Drive (corner of Montebello & Academy), Colorado Springs

Junior Trade In Program

SKI REX is also the place for parents to snag the single best deal anywhere in Colorado for equipment for kids ages 4-18–Junior Trade-In. This budget-friendly program has been available for 25+ years and was created to insure that children’s ski equipment remains affordable as they grow up-even for families on a tight budget. A complete set of used equipment is available for $99.99 and includes skis, boots, bindings, and a safety binding check. Equipment can be returned the following year by Sept. 30 and for just $20 per item (boots, skis), parents can refit their kids into a different set of used equipment for the next season. The net cost per child after the first year is $49.99 per year! The Junior Trade-In is also offered on new equipment with setups starting at $199.99. If the equipment is returned by Sept. 30 the following year, a 50 percent discount is given for the next year’s equipment–$99.99/year after the first year! If the kids don’t grow that much or love their current equipment, they can keep it for two years and return it for a 30 percent discount after two seasons. A similar deal is available for snowboarders with a slightly higher rate for used equipment–$99.99 for a full snowboard setup that includes boots and deck.

Ski and Snowboard Recycling

For the third consecutive year, the Colorado Ski & Golf and Boulder Ski Deals stores are offering ski and snowboard recycling on-site. Beginning Sept. 4 at the five SKI REX locations, skiers and riders can bring their unwanted skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, boots, poles and bindings to any of these stores. Equipment in good condition will be donated to charitable domestic programs. Equipment that is no longer safe or usable by these programs is transported to a facility south of Denver and shredded for use in a variety of new products including composite decking, flooring, furniture, etc. A nominal fee will automatically be added to the purchase of new adult skis, snowboards, and boots and all proceeds will be donated to Snowsports Industries America (SIA) to support their national Ski Recycling Program.

Custom boot fitting

Getting ultimate fit, comfort, and performance from a new pair of boots is the goal at all Colorado Ski & Golf locations and they achieve that goal by offering unlimited free boot adjustments on new boot purchases for as long as the skier/rider owns their boots. Plus, every new boot purchase includes the unconditional guarantee that if the boots don’t fit comfortably, skiers can bring them in to have them adjusted or “tweaked,” and after five days on the slopes, they can be exchanged until the customer is ultimately happy with their new boots. Experienced ski boot fitters recommend new ski boots about every five to seven years depending on the amount of use. Snowboarders need to make the purchase a bit more frequently because the softer, less expensive boots wear down more quickly– approximately every two to three seasons.

As an extra shopping incentive, the 2nd Annual Twitter Hunt returns this year with great prizes including skis, snowboards, winter gear, and season passes. Shoppers can follow coloradoskigolf on Twitter or “friend” Colorado SkiandGolf on Facebook to pick up clues for finding the hidden in-store prize boxes at all four Colorado Ski & Golf locations and Boulder Ski Deals. Sleuths can search and claim prize boxes from Saturday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 6.

All items purchased at SKI REX include the Colorado Ski & Golf guarantee of complete satisfaction. If shoppers aren’t satisfied with their new skis or snowboard after three days on the slopes, they can exchange their equipment. This guarantee assures buyers they are buying the right equipment for their needs. Additionally, SKI REX guarantees these are the lowest prices in the nation. If a shopper finds a lower price on a sale item somewhere else, the Colorado Ski & Golf stores will not only match that price, they’ll beat it!

“Avid skiers and riders have always depended on SKI REX for the great bargains and the selection of merchandise and with the great prices we’re offering, I think it will be more popular than usual,” said Williams. “The primary attraction is all the sale items and prices but the demand for Junior Trade In, boot fitting, and accessories seems to keep attracting even more people in recent years,” he noted.
