The Teva Mountain Games are this country’s biggest celebration of adventure sports, art and music. They are a project of the Vail Valley Foundation and have returned to Vail, CO, and are happening right now until Sunday, June 5. This year marks their 10th year for the Games.

Both professional and amateur athletes from around the world will compete in 8 mountain sports and 24 disciplines for more than $100,000. This year, sporting events include: kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, cycling, World Cup Bouldering, amateur climbing, fly fishing, stand up paddling, trail running and a half marathon.

However, these Games are not just about athletes and athletic competition.  In the art sector there is a “Mountain Click Photo Competition” where both professional and amateur photographers can have a shot (pun, yes very intended) to receive a 1-year sponsorship, with products from Clik Elite.  Get those cameras out!

There is also a slue of free concerts offered to rock out after a hard, enjoyable day of events. Dirty Heads performed last night to a stellar crowd and Xavier Rudd performs this Saturday, June 4 at 7PM.
