The Jackson Hole Kayak Club will be hosting the 2011 Wyoming Whitewater Championships (WWC) from June 10-12, 2011. This year marks the 15th year for the Wyoming Whitewater Championships.
The WWC is a full weekend of fun and competition. Beginning this Friday evening, the competition starts out with a kayak, raft and SUP race on the Hoback River. The race is a 20-minute sprint a bridge where rafters will be going head-to-head.
Saturday, there will be a freestyle rodeo (see video below) on the Snake River. The exact location on the river will be announced Friday afternoon after water levels are assessed. After the freestyle, there will be a raffle and awards party at Cutty’s on HWY 22 in Jackson Hole. A brand new Jackson playboat is just one of the fantastic prizes being given away.
Finishing up on Sunday, there will be a boatercross on the Greys River. You are guaranteed a lot of action for this sprint through class-IV/V whitewater.
