No Victims Reported in Dutch Draw Avalanche Outside of The Canyons Ski Resort

The Summit County Search and Rescue crew was called in to respond to an avalanche that occured in Dutch Draw, located in an out of bounds area of the Canyons Ski Resort.

It was initially unknown whether anyone was trapped by the avalanche. Shortly after the call was issued, Brett Kobernik of the Utah Avalanche Center released a statement detailing that no skiers or snowboarders were hit by the snow slide. He went on to explain that a skier did in fact trigger the avalanche


The Utah Avalanche Center has issued a “considerable” avalanche warning for multiple zones throughout the mountains of Utah. Areas include; Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo, Uintas, Logan and Skyline.
