The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series (PPOS) is full on at Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia. Now in it's third year, the popular competitive series and features both slopestyle and halfpipe events.
A collection of the world’s top amateur and professional freeskiing athletes has assembled to take their competitive careers to the next level. In addition to the glory received by winning the PPOS, these skiers are also competing for a last minute invite to the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
The PPOS has partnered with the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) to judge the competition. Each of the four stops are classified as Silver Level events on the AFP competition schedule providing ample opportunity to for athletes to rack up some points. Both the Copper Mountain and Northstar California Resort stops are also considered International Ski Federation (FIS) sanctioned NORAM Cup events providing competitors the opportunity to accumulate FIS points as well.
This week's competition is taking place in the Nintendo Terrain Park located on Blackcomb Mountain.

The park competition kicked off earlier today, Wednesday, January 16th with park semi-finals and finals. The North Face Park and Pipe Open Series at Whistler Blackcomb concludes on Thursday, January 17th with the halfpipe semi-finals and finals in the Blackcomb superpipe.
