The 31st annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships is stoked to announce their confirmed list of riders in this year’s event set to take place in Vail, Colorado Febrary 25th-March 2nd. A few of the big names on the list include Shaun White, Mark McMorris, Kelly Clark, Torah Bright, Jamie Anderson, Louri Podladtchikov, and many more that are excited to compete in the world-class slopestyle and halfpipe competitions.
The slopestyle semi-finals are set to begin on February 27th, which will be even more thrilling because slopestyle has secured a spot at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The men’s lineup is pretty impressive featuring Mark McMorris, Aleksander Oestreng, and Sebastien Toutant who have all had a great 2012-2013 season thus far. The women’s lineup is equally as remarkable with Jamie Anderson, Enni Rukajärvi, Kjersti Ostgaard Buaas, Ty Walker, and Clika Sadar.
“The US Open is one of snowboarding’s legendary events, and some of my best competition memories are of competing at Vail, so for me, bringing the two together is all time,” commented Shaun White on the event. “I’m excited to compete in Vail’s new pipe and see everyone come out for the next evolution of this contest.”
February 28th marks the semi-finals of the Burton US Open halfpipe, which has a rider list stacked with nine Olympians, including Shaun White, Hannah Teter, and Kelly Clark to name a few. The slopestyle finals will take place on March 1st at 10:30am and halfpipe finals will start March 2nd at 10:30am. Tune in to Universal Sports and NBCSN to watch the finals on TV.
