POWDER ALERT: Steamboat has officially passed the 300-inch mark at mid-mountain for the 2012-2013 season with nearly two feet of Champagne Powder snow in the past week alone.

“Steamboat has some of the best snow in the Rocky Mountains and is currently enjoying mid-winter conditions even though the calendar says spring,” exclaimed Chris Diamond, President and COO for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “With two feet in the past week, Steamboat is definitely showing why it is the home of Champagne Powder snow and the place to be for skiing and riding this spring.”

Steamboat 50 years

Who needs summer when there’s fresh powder? The Champagne Powder snow isn’t letting up as Steamboat is currently in a storm cycle that as of 5 am has left 6 inches at mid-mountain and 5 inches at the summit in the past 48-hours. The resort is stoked about the powder/packed powder conditions they’re seeing with a reported 66-inch base at mid-mountain and 77-inch base at the summit.

“Spring is the best time of year to gather friends and family and spend times on the slopes,” commented Diamond. “Steamboat is making it easier than ever to do that with great packages and special spring passes. This is the time of year when everything lines up just right: great snow, longer days, incredible values, and plenty of fun.”

Mother Nature is truly making their 50th Anniversary Season go down in history, so take advantage of the killer deals Steamboat has for spring! The Springalicious Pass offers three-days of skiing/riding in April. The April Double Dip Pass meshes unlimited skiing and riding at Steamboat and Winter Park during April as well. You better hurry since there’s limited quantities of both passes available and rates increase starting Monday, April 1st.

If sweet lift ticket deals aren’t enough, then get pumped for The Bud Light Rocks the Boat FREE Concerts by MarchFourth Marching Band on March 30th, Miss the Boat on April 13th, and a blow-out end of the season show featuring Head for the Hills and Leftover Salmon on closing day, April 14th.

Call in sick, take the weekend off, and enjoy some sweet conditions you definitely don’t want to miss out on!
