What’s better than the warm sun, long days, and soft corn snow? Nothing so Blackcomb Mountain has announced the extension of their skiing and riding season until May 27. Whistler Mountain is still closing on April 21, but the mountain is excited to offer this great way to enjoy this unbelievable winter season a little longer.

“Whistler Blackcomb is lucky to boast one of the longest ski seasons in North America,” exclaimed Stuart Rempel, Senior VP of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “Whether it is skiing freshly groomed corn snow, or enjoying an après beverage while listening to live music on the patio of Merlin’s, we want to make sure guests have the best possible spring experience.”

Whistler Blackcomb has put together a few helpful tips for those guests looking for a little spring getaway on the mountain:

1.     Check grooming boards and follow the sun before deciding where to ski or ride for the best snow conditions

Conditions vary throughout the day with some slopes heating up at certain times of the day allowing for sweet spring snow conditions. Always wear sunscreen because the UV rays will be shining. Guests can also visit the Whistler Blackcomb Live App, website, or call the snow phone for live snow and grooming conditions.

2.     Take advantage of the dining and après.

Guests can sit back and relax and enjoy après in a few locations including the base of Whistler until April 21, Merlin’s at the base of Blackcomb, and Dusty’s at the base of Whistler Mountain in Creekside. Spring is prime time for barbeque season and Whistler offers some of the best spots to take full advantage, such as the Horstman Hut that overlooks the Horstman Glacier.

3.     Check out spring deals and 2013-2014 Early Bird Season Passes.

After April 21, guests can enjoy Blackcomb Mountain for just $65 at the ticket window. Another option is to take advantage of the rest of the 2012-2013 season for just $229 with the SPF Spring Unlimited Pass. In addition, if you put a down payment on the 2013-2014 Adult Unlimited Season Pass going for $1,330, then you can ski and ride as much as you want for the remainder of the spring season.
