Whitefish Mountain Resort not only celebrated their 65th season this winter but got the added bonus of setting a new record with over 323,000 total skier visits. The resort has been fortunate enough to break the 300,000 mark before, as this is their third time doing so. The icing on the cake comes from also setting the record for the most skier visits in just one day with and astounding 7,165 on December 30, 2012.
“We know that our guests have a number of choices available and a big reason they are coming here is the value we represent,” commented Nick Polumbus, Whitefish Mountain Resort Director of Sales and Marketing. “We’re dedicated to creating a high quality affordable ski experience.”
The resort has had a phenomenal season overall as private lessons for adults were up compared to last season. In addition, lessons for 3-6-year-olds increased by a whopping 50%. Lodging accommodations were also up 11% compared to the previous year with a majority of travelers coming from the rest of Montana, Alberta, Washington, Minnesota, Saskatchewan, Oregon, North Dakota, and Manitoba.
Local resident and season pass holder Tony Cooper also broke the record for vertical feet skied in a single season skiing 5,612,746 this season! This season 105 season pass holders were able to surpass the remarkable 1,000,000 vertical feet mark, which shows true dedication.
