The 2012-2013 winter season brought lots of fresh powder and mountain lovers out to Holiday Valley leading to a successful season that prodded Holiday Valley’s President Dennis Eshbaugh to announce plans for a huge $3.1 million investment in resort improvements.

“It is a priority to continually improve Holiday Valley, not only to keep up with the current technology but to give our visitors the best experience possible,” exclaimed Mr. Eshbaugh about the upcoming improvements to both winter and summer operations.

One major highlight of the renovations include the installation of 70 new HKD SV-10 snowguns with automation set to be installed on Edelweiss, Sunrise, Cindy’s, and Foxfire. Over the past few years, the resort has installed many of these automated snowmaking guns on popular runs and been welcomed with great success, so they have decided to continue the tradition. The enhanced automation feature allows for increased efficiency and energy savings while at the same time still maintaining a high level of manmade snow quality.

Another great addition to the resort will be the Pisten Bully 600 Active Boom Winch Cat grooming machine which is designed to offer the latest technological improvements for grooming on steeper sections of trails. Another added benefit includes better coverage of those “hard to reach” spots.

The Cabana Bar found near the pools and the Golf Shop will get some sweet pampering as well with a replacement featuring a new timber beam roof system that will have open sides for those hot days of summer, but also be enclosed with glass panels for use in cold weather.

There will be many other renovations taking place with the $3.1 million investment towards improvements. For more information on Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, New York visit
