Val Thorens, France will be the place to be for skier cross competitors. After taking a brief break due to poor snow conditions, which led to the cancellation of several events in Europe, the Audi ski cross tour will resume with back-to-back races on January 9th and 10th. Favored athletes such as Marielle Thompson, Olympic Gold Medalist, Georgia Simmerling, Sandra Naeslund, Thomas Zangerl, Victor Norberg and Armin Niederer started the season strongly with notable finishes in Nakiska. With only one race under the competitor’s belt, there are quite a few competitions left for the racers to make their mark. It will be interesting to see who comes away with this weekend’s title. The Val Thorens course proves to be one of the most challenging on the tour with a diverse track layout and one of the biggest courses on the tour. You can be sure the skier cross competitors are anxious to get back on their skis and back into action.
