The World Championships better look out for team USA! With a 16-athlete squad heading to Falun, Sweden we can be sure to see big performances from team American. This year the cross country squad will feature both veterans and rookies, which will allow for an extremely diverse team. As Head Coach Chris Grover stated: “There are good opportunities for us in bringing a big US Team to Falun,” said Head Coach Chris Grover. “We have a mix of experienced World Cup skiers and some new faces looking to make their mark at the highest level. Over the past few weeks, many US athletes have been building their fitness and it could be seen in their results in the Rybinsk World Cup this past weekend. We expect to see some peak performances in Falun.”

One of the athletes whom had a stellar performance at Rybinsk was Liz Stephen. Liz placed second at the World Cup and is currently ranked sixth in the FIS World Cup standings. Kikkan Randall will be looking to defend her sprint World Cup title as she competes in her eighth World Championships. On the men’s side we look forward to long time veteran Kris Freeman , who will be skiing in his eighth World Championship as well as the return of Noah Hoffman who took a brief hiatus due to a leg injury he sustained in the first World Cup of the season.

The World Championships will begin February 18th . The below the athletes will represent the United States of America. We look forward to seeing outstanding performances from each athlete! Congratulations!
