On February 22nd, Special Olympic Winter athletes will take to the slopes and skating rink at Copper Mountain to compete in the 27th Special Olympic Winter games.  Six different sports will hold competitions for the athletes to showcase their skills. We want to encourage everyone to take time to check out the Special Olympic web pages to find Winter Games in your area to volunteer.

The Special Olympics Winter Games feature competitions, a dance, family activities and a huge firework celebration to close the festivities. One thing we are certain about is these athletes have more fun than just about anyone.

The athletes with their special spirit inspire us to volunteer and get involved with the Special Olympic Winter Games. This program is crucial to the sports community and their effort and passion for the Winter Games is unmatched. The athletes, coaches and families put their heart and soul into the Special Olympic programs to create memorable experiences for each competitor. The athletes look forward to this event each year, their anticipation of competing creates an enthusiastic and animated environment. The athletes are elated after their events and can’t wait for their next opportunity to be outside competing in the sport they love. Why should you volunteer for the Special Olympics? To experience the passion and joy each competitor radiates as they cross the finish their events. Congratulation to all the athletes, we will see you at Copper in a few weeks!
