Winter storm warning remains in effect until 4 am PST Friday, 01/18
Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 10 pm this evening to 7 am PST Thursday 01/16 above 7000 feet

As many of you know, we’ve been getting a heavy dumping on the mountains these past couple of days.

Currently, everywhere about 7000 feet in the Mono County area is on blizzard and storm warning for the next 24 to 72 hours.

There is a heavy snowfall accumulation of 2 to 5 feet west of Highway 395 above 7000 feet with blizzard conditions forecast. About 10 to 20 inches elsewhere above 7000 feet. Between 6000 and 7000 feet, up to 6
inches is forecast. Winds gusting as high as 125 mph for ridge tops.

Keep in mind, to avoid traveling if possible. There is the possibility that you could be stuck in your vehicle. If you decide to travel in these conditions, prepare for delays and bring an emergency kit with extra food, water, and clothing.

If you stay home, have a backup plan in case of power outages. Do take into consideration that this is a life-threatening situation, especially in the higher elevations.
