Deer Valley to Hold Mountain Bike School and Camps Through Summer

If you’re new to mountain biking, Deer Valley is a great place to start. (And of course, if you’re a pro, it’s perfect for you, too.) Enjoy over 55 miles of scenic trails, or bring your bike up the mountain on the Silver Lake Express or Sterling Express chairs and schuss down the slopes. All-day bike passes are $28, a single-ride $19, and a season pass is $275. Helmets and signed liability release forms are required.

Deer Valley’s Mountain Bike School operates daily and is known for its effective clinics and tours for all abilities. The resort is now offering specialized camps, too. From July 11-12, kids ages 10 to 15 can enjoy the mountain’s Free Ride and Gravity Skills Mountain Bike Camp. Instructors will school classes of up to five participants on biking skills specific to free-ride gravity-style riding, bike maintenance, component adjustments and proper trail etiquette.  The two-day clinic costs $168 and includes lunch, a two-day lift ticket and an end-of-camp DVD/video analysis. Camp participants also receive a 20% discount on bike rentals. Please call 435-645-6648 or 888-754-8477 for information or to reserve a slot.

Later this summer, from August 21 - 23, its ladies only. The Mad March Racing (MMR) Women’s Mountain Bike camp will teach custom bike fit and industry secrets. Of course, detailed biking instruction with a downhill focus will also be provided, along with lunches and a welcome party.

The camp runs $299 and includes lift tickets, lunch and appetizers on the first evening, and bike rental and lodging discounts will also be available. A helmet and gloves are required; knee and elbow pads are suggested. Get ready to get down!
