Black Mountain - Saturday, March 6, 2010, 1st Annual Red Parka Regatta Jr., skiers and riders design and build their own downhill vessel for competition. Speed is not the goal, the winning categories will be Most Imaginative, Best Costume and Best Theme. The only rules are that the vessel must be hand crafted and be able to get from the start line to the finish line. Age groups are 6-10 and 11-14. Winners will be chosen by people's choice during the awards ceremony following the race. www.blackmt.com
