Do you fancy yourself somewhat of a freeskier? Do you watch videos of Simon Dumont, Tanner Hall, Nick Martini, Kristi Leskinen and others and think...you know what? I know I can do that. Well, pony up, johnny. Now is your chance to compete in the Peak Performance King of Style freeskiing competition. Yes, you! All you have to do is submit a 60 second video of yourself doing some impressive freeskiing and...well, beat out every other submission...and then, boom! You'll be on your way to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium to compete in front of upwards of 20,000 people and against some of the best freeskiers in the world for a cash prize of 20 grand!
Put your video on YouTube and then send the folks at Peak Performance a link to the video. The general public who watches the videos on YouTube will vote for their favorite skiers, and among the top 20 that receive the highest ratings, 4 will be chosen. Who chooses the 4 that get to compete? Don't worry, a group of qualified folks make the decisions, including 2008 Freeride Champion Henrik Windstedt, and the 2008 King of Style winner PK Hunder.
Joakim Gip is Peak Performance's Marketing Director, and he said that "last year's video qualification was a huge success. There were originally only two qualifying places, but the standard was so incredibly high, that the number was increased to four. All together the 55 video contributions got over 300,000 views and over 7,000 people voted on their favorite skier."
Best of luck to all of you who contribute!
