Breckenridge loves marijuana

During election day yesterday, a marijuana reform bill was presented to the residents of Breckenridge, Colorado. The results are in, and the bill passed. Starting January 1st, it will be legal for people 21 and over to possess one ounce or less of pot. They can also own paraphernalia (bongs and what not). Statewide, marijuana is still illegal, but in Breckenridge, people are safe. Police Chief Rick Holman commented that officers in his department "still have the ability to exercise discretion" when it comes to the state vs. city clash.

Please note that The Ski Channel does not condone any illegal activity, nor do we condone using marijuana irresponsibly, as in smoking and skiing. OK, Breck? So enjoy responsibly...

Yeah, and the Colorado town of Eagle banned "head shops" but approved licensed "clinics" as long as the users don't smoke on the premises. Just like it is legal for an anonymous outdoor grower to supply "medical" marijuana to L.A. clinics, oh I'm sorry did I say Los Zetas gang member was growing "medical" marijuana for street distribution, no wait I am confused who is a bad guy? Except it is illegal to buy multiple packages of cold medicine in a pharmacy because you might make methamphetamine, no wait meth pills are legal if your an Air Force pilot needing to stay awake during a nighttime bombing campaign? What is the message again?

Everyone knows no one in history has ever died from marijuana! The feds are waiting on the states to legalize, the states say they can't change federal law. I'm glad to see local folks taking rational legalization action!
