Next stop for the Snowboard World Cup

After a rousing snowboard big-air event in London last Saturday with Stefan Gimpl taking the top spot on the podium, the Snowboard World Cup moves on to Saas-Fee, Switzerland for a halfpipe contest today and tomorrow. Americans Jack Mitrani and Kevin Pearce will face some tough competition out there, specifically from Japan and Finland. From Japan, the returning World champion Ryoh Aono is the one to beat along with Kazuhiro Kokubo and Daisuke Murakami. The Finnish side brings last year's Saas-Fee champ Janne Korpi, Peetu Piiroinen and Antti Autti.

All in all, the competition will feature about 75 men and 40 women from 25 countries. Besides the halfpipe in Saas-Fee, Barcelona is hosting a big-air event two days later. Read more about that here.
