IDE Technologies is huge in the desalinization game, and that technology has lead to the mother of all snowmaking guns.  Six times more powerful than a traditional snow gun, capable of pumping out 67,000 cubic feet of snow per unit per day, and the ability to make snow at very uncold 63 degree temps, it's the All Weather Snowmaker.

Zermatt and Pitztal are the first two ski resorts to purchase the snowmakers.  Before this news feels too utopian, unfortunately, according to an article by AFP, "the Snowmaker uses as much power in a single day as a whole family does in a year."

Ouch.  Still, maybe they can throw a couple sun panels on that thing and we can ski all year 'round...
