Hike up a mountain and watch the Leonid meteor shower tonight

The Leonid Meteor Shower will be visible tonight in North America and Asia. Sitting here in Los Angeles, I'm envious of all you ski towners who will undoubtedly have a better look at it since you won't have 50 million city lights and a thick cloud of smog to fight through.

Since tonight is a new moon, everyone is hoping for a good show. The best viewing will be between 1AM and dawn, so set your alarm (or just stay up late), hike up a mountain, and enjoy the meteors!

I live up in northern Minnesota, there is little light pollution here and every year I have had an amazing view of the leonids showers! I decided to setup a couple cameras with live feeds to share my view with others. If you’re interested you can check it out at my website here: http://www.tinyurl.com/watch-leonid-meteor-live

I live in Salt Lake City, UT, and I can tell you, I was out for only 5 minutes (12:05AM), and something flew over me. It was gone as fast as it came, but it lit up the entire valley. It seemed a little low for me to just pass off as a common meteor. I mean, I would guess it was more in the range of about 40k feet. Visibly, it was large and engulfed in flames. At first, I thought it was just me, but I asked a co-worker if she seen it and they had as well. By far, the craziest thing that I've ever seen.
