Snow in Lake Tahoe today comes just in time for ski resorts
According to noaa.gov, which I'm told is a pretty darn reliable weather site, there's 100% chance of snow today in the Lake Tahoe region. 100%! There is not even one percent of doubt in their minds that Tahoe will get dumped on today. Several feet are expected to hit the higher elevations, with six inches to a foot at the lake level.
This is great news for the area's ski resorts, certainly for the already-open Boreal ski resort, and Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe. This snow also comes just in time for tomorrow's opening of the Heavenly Mountain ski resort. This Saturday, as in tomorrow, Northstar-at-Tahoe opens its doors, as does Squaw Valley, kicking off it's giant 60th anniversary party. Tourism Director of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association Andy Chapman had this to say: “The first really big storm of the ski season is always a welcome sight. It absolutely gets people excited, and when visitors are excited they start booking.”
Adds John Wagnon, president of Ski Lake Tahoe: "The Ski Lake Tahoe resorts have seen several feet of snow already this season both from natural snowstorms and from state-of-the-art snowmaking systems, making Lake Tahoe a sure bet for families and destination travelers looking for reliable early season conditions. The amazing conditions combined with the best ski vacation deals in the country make Tahoe the place to be for a unique early season winter experience."

It's suprising tahoe doesn't promote the interchangleable lift ticket as part of their marketing message. I found a good deal at the following link as a package.Lake tahoe ski pass deals
