Park City's TJ Lanning suffers serious leg injury at Lake Louise World Cup downhill

TJ LanningComing over the fastest part of the course, traveling in excess of 90 miles per hour, TJ Lanning caught an edge, blasted through a gate, and face planted into the rock hard course at Lake Louise.  As he tumbled, Lanning's left ski did not immediately release.  It looks to be a serious left leg injury.

Lanning finished ninth at Lake Louise last year and finished in the top 25 for downhill and super G, despite missing the last three months of the World Cup season after tearing an ACL in Kitzbuehuel.  We'll update you when news is released on Lanning's condition.

The downhill is on hold as medical personnel secure TJ for the helicopter.  Live video from Lake Louise can be viewed here.
