Bode Miller to compete in all 5 alpine events at Winter Olympics

Sasha Rearick, head coach of the U.S. Ski Team, said today that Bode Miller will compete in all five alpine skiing events at the Winter Olympics.  Speculation mainly centered on whether or not Bode would race giant slalom, as he has yet to score a point in giant slalom this World Cup season.  Rearick cited Miller's giant slalom credentials in making his decision.  Bode owns a giant slalom silver medal in 2002 at Salt Lake,  a gold at the World Championships in 2003 at St. Moritz, nine World Cup giant slalom victories including the giant slalom World Cup title in 2004.

Miller's last World Cup victory in giant slalom was in 2005 at Beaver Creek.  But, with Miller's skiing and when healthy, he's still a threat to win each and every race he enters.  First crack at a gold for Miller is February 13th with the men's downhill.  T-minus 11 days!
