Winter Dew Tour Hits Breckenridge

The inaugural Winter Dew Tour makes its first stop at Breckenridge, Colorado on Thursday.  An expansion of the highly successful (summer) Dew Tour, the winter version consists of three stops: Breck, Mount Snow, VT, and Northstar, CA.  The Dew Tours have been extremely popular with fans, but also the athletes themselves.  For far too long action sports athletes took big risks at contests for little financial reward.  The Dew Tour changed all that.  And the Winter Dew Tour is no different, with a total prize purse of $1.5 million.  With that much cash on the line, the best-of-the-best are slated to compete: Tanner Hall, Simon Dumont (pictured left), Shaun White and Hannah Teter, among others.  “The top snowboarders and skiers are in this contest, and it is pretty much the only time you will be able to see all of them in one spot,” superpipe competitor Elena Hight said. “It is an amazing contest.”
