It’s a bird, it’s a plane—it’s an XTERRA athlete performing super-human feats this winter, at the second annual XTERRA Winter World Championship, which will be held March 7 and 8, 2009, at the Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah.

The XTERRA multisport race combines four heart-pumping disciplines: ski mountaineering, mountain biking, running and snowshoeing, and is open to professional and amateur competitors from around the globe. Athletes actually bike through snow over bumpy terrain, and skate-ski uphill, and snowshoe through the trees.

The XTERRA Winter World Championship is presented by the Utah Sports Commission, Greater Ogden Athletic Legacy Foundation,Snowbasin, Paul Mitchell, and XTERRA Gear. Check it out on the Ski Channel and at
