The ’09-’10 ski season is about the return of the value pass.  Mammoth Mountain has reopened their MVP clubSquaw Valley, for the first time in its history, is offering a heavily discounted value pass.  And now Heavenly has rolled back the price of its season pass to 2007/2008 levels.

Generations ago, they self-dubbed themselves “The Face Rats”.  Who they are is an eclectic group of bump skiers whose turf is the Gunbarrel at Heavenly.  The Gunbarrel has been dubbed by all as “North America’s toughest black-diamond bump run.”   Moguls the size of VWs will earn you that distinction.

In tribute, let’s examine the Heavenly season pass price according to the different ages of The Face Rats.

Face Rats, 19-64, $329
Teen Face Rats, $259
Grom Face Rats, $149
1st and 2nd Generation Face Rats, $259

Heavenly, covering 4,800 acres, is Tahoe’s largest and highest ski resort.  A discount for the best?  That’s an all-star player willing to take less money to play at home.  Won’t see that in the professional sports.  That only happens at Heavenly!
