With over a foot of new snow, the Easter Bunny won’t be the only thing that is white and fluffy in Utah this weekend. Many skiers flocked to Utah’s slopes today including Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. who was extremely pleased by the state’s most famous resource. That would snow, and lots of it.

The Utah resorts have reported 12 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, bringing April’s snow total to 76 inches, more than 10 inches beyond the average accumulation for April. Utah has a year-to-date snow total of 626 inches. That’s a lot to ski, so get out there before the mountains close! (Most close this weekend, though the Cottonwood areas like Snowbird and Alta remain open on weekends.) Hop to it!
