It’s still winter out west, but the tables have turned out east with temps springing into the upper 50’s in Vermont. You can still enjoy prime spring ski conditions at Killington in perfect weather, under a perfect sun.

This Saturday the resort will celebrate the green season with their annual pond-skimming contest. Just like Halloween, these events are never to be missed, and it’s everyone’s chance to be a rock star. Literally. Costumes are encouraged!

The pond is currently under construction by the K-1 Lodge, but will be in fine form come this weekend. Registration opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, and the competition starts at Noon. Prizes will be offered for best skim, splash, costume and an extra special judge’s award.

If you just want to ski, be sure to head to Killington as the mountain resort is offering two-day tickets for $50, in honor of the mountain’s 50th birthday. However you cut it, this weekend is sure to be a bonafide bash.
